It gives me great pleasure today to welcome Tim Mudder to the staff of DeSoto Hills. He will be serving in a part time position as our Minister of College and Career. We recognize the need to help this age group stay connected with the Lord and the church during their days of transition. We graduated a large number of seniors last year who are scattered all over the state in numerous college settings. Tim will seek to stay in touch with them and let them know their church family is thinking of them. At the same time, he will be working with those who are attending schools closer to home and able to still be actively involved here. Pray for Tim as he launches this brand new ministry and join me in welcoming him to our staff. I want to thank the Personnel Management Team and the Stewardship Ministry Team for their involvement in this crucial ministry step. It may be an overused clique, but that does not make it any less true, “when you aim at nothing you normally hit it“. At DeSoto Hills we have some aims that need to be constantly communicated, periodically evaluated, and at times, specifically updated. Listed below, in no particular order, are some concerns that I believe we must continue to address. Please make them a matter of prayer. In some of these, you may be the answer to your own prayer. Goal #1 FIND Presently two teams are working to help staff DeSoto Hills. The Staff Search Team is searching for a Minister of Discipleship and a Minister of Students. However, the Personnel Management Team is also looking to expand the staff through the addition of some part time help in thearea of Children, College/Career, and Administration. Most of us have probably heard or used the phrase “it’s been Monday all day long”. It’s a saying that reflects how busy, draining, and even chaotic this first day of the work week can be. I don’t really know what it is about this day that sometimes makes it so hard. It may have something to do with a weekend that tends to fly by, while the work week tends to drag on. Maybe it’s the thought of so many things to do before another break. Whatever the reason, Monday is not the favorite day of the week for most people. However, this week at DeSoto Hills, all that changes. I want to tell you something that should help you get up Monday morning and put a spring in your step all day long. The Mississippi Singing Churchman are coming to DeSoto Hills and will be singing for us this MONDAY night at 7:00. I cannot overstate what a privilege this is for us to be hosting this great choir.
