Aiming to Make a Difference

It may be an overused clique, but that does not make it any less true, “when you aim at nothing you normally hit it“. At DeSoto Hills we have some aims that need to be constantly communicated, periodically evaluated, and at times, specifically updated. Listed below, in no
particular order, are some concerns that I believe we must continue to address. Please make them a matter of prayer. In some of these, you may be the answer to your own prayer.

Goal #1 FIND
Presently two teams are working to help staff DeSoto Hills. The Staff Search Team is searching for a Minister of Discipleship and a Minister of Students. However, the Personnel Management Team is also looking to expand the staff through the addition of some part time help in thearea of Children, College/Career, and Administration. We probably will not find or be able to hire all these at once, but we do need a game plan.

Goal #2 FUND
It goes without saying that we continue to need the resources to fund:

• Personnel
• Programs (design not only to disciple but evangelize)
• Projects and
• Promises

We must continue to pay back the debt incurred with our new facility. You have been faithful in this area but giving must increase if we are to meet the growing needs here. August giving was down.

Goal #3 FINSIH
There are some projects related to construction that we need to finish.

• Kitchen
  This project is almost complete and is going to be beautiful and a very functional addition to our facilities.
• Playground
  This project is now on order thanks to an anonymous gift. We are putting some funds with it to make it top notch. Our children deserve it. It will be money well spent as it will speak volumes about the importance we place on our children.
• Sign
  The Property Management Team has approved a design for our sign facing Getwell. This message board will not only identify who we are, but we give us the opportunity to advertise things that are going on.
• Parking
  We are still working on paving the two gravel lots.

Goal #4 FORM
We need a team to look at building usage and begin to form plans for our future needs.

Goal #5 FUNNEL
We must be sure that funnel folks into needed and meaningful places of service. Opportunities for service abound at DeSoto Hills. As I say in the Discovery Class everyone is a 10 at something.
