We have a new Minister of Discipleship at DeSoto Hills. Grant Stegall and his family will soon be headed to Southaven.
After mounds of resumes and months of meetings, I believe the Lord has revealed His will and you have responded by overwhelmingly supporting the recommendation of the Staff Search Team. They have one down and one to go as they now turn their full time attention to finding the “one body” the Lord wants to use to lead our Student Ministry. It is a daunting task. Also, continue to pray for the Stegalls as they prepare to make the move here. Grant plans to resign from his position as First Baptist Crystal Springs this Sunday morning and anticipates starting with us somewhere around the 1st of November. Listed below are some specific ways in which you can pray for them during these weeks of transition.
Pray that the Lord will give them peace during all of this and beyond that, expand the excitement about DeSoto Hills that they already feel.
I look forward to serving alongside of this family in the days ahead as we continue to join the Lord in His plans for all of us at DeSoto Hills Baptist Church.
A Grateful and Excited Pastor,
Bro. James
You are so right in saying that our loss is your gain. We will miss Grant, Amber and Eli so much. They are like part of our family. Grant is the only youth minister that my son has known. I started teaching in the youth department this church year and my 7/8th grade girls were heartbroken this morning. We wish them well and we know that Grant will do an outstanding job for you guys. We also know that Grant would not be leaving if it was not God’s calling. We respect him and will always love him. May God richly bless your church through Grant’s ministry. And please do pray for our youth group as they go through this difficult time.
