While I know it is dangerous to try to live in the past, it is probably equally dangerous to not learn from the past. So with that in mind the “Nook” this week is all about a trip down memory lane. It is a rather recent lane, but one nevertheless I want us to revisit as a way of rejoicing and remembering some lessons. There is probably only one word to describe Fall Festival 07, -WOW! The weather was beautiful, the crowd was large, and I believe the impact was great. I saw MANY visitors and they all looked like they were having a good time. The lessons that can be derived from such an event as this are numerous.
Fall Festival is about PLANNING AHEAD. Believe me this event was not just thrown together. It took some preparation and we are already thinking through this one in order to plan even better for next October. Fall Festival is also about PULLING TOGETHER. In fact, you could well say that this year’s festival came together because we pulled together. A big thanks goes out to all of you who worked so hard to help make this happen. Literally, we could not have done it without you. Fall Festival is about PUSHING ON. The best-laid plans don’t always come together like we envision. Sometimes we have to go to plan B or C or maybe even D. However, we did push on and the party went off with very few hitches. For your pastor Fall Festival is also about PLAYING TOGETHER. It is good to see the church and community gathering for the purpose of fun and fellowship.
“A merry heart doeth good like medicine.” Proverbs 22:17 Last, but certainly not least, Fall Festival is about PLOWING UP new ground. It is my prayer that this event will be used of the Lord to open up some opportunities for souls to be softened and seeds to be planted that will produce much fruit.
Cotton Candy Man,

Dear Bro.James(cotton candy man),
I just wanted to let you know that my daughter and I came to the fall fest. and thought
we had the best time.I know she visited your cotton candy machine a couple of times.
She bounced from all the sugar for days. She did win a couple of goldfish but let us say
these went to be with the angels in their big goldfish pond in heaven.I was amazed to see
all of the people that were there that day.I just wish it lasted a little longer. We are very
pleased with the church so far.Your sermons and music are great and a blessing to listen to.You
also keep us entertained by moving from one side of the church to the other.I do hope
a youth paster is found soon so my son can get involved in some church activities
and fellowships.I hope you a wonderful day.
