One Year Later the Journey is Just Beginning…

October 17th, 2007 | On October 15, 2006 we took our first steps as DeSoto Hills Baptist Church. A year later we pause to marvel at where we have been and envision where we are going. The stats are in, • Total Members 731 • Total Baptisms 27 • Other Additions 138 • Average Worship 658 • Average SS 484 • VBS Enrollment 403 • Total Receipts $1,268,000.00 But the journey is just beginning. I believe that for “such a time as this” the Lord has brought us to this part of DeSoto County to be a voice for Him and a vision of Him. The request of those people so long ago of those original disciples is still the cry of our world today, “Sir we would see Jesus.” John 12:21 They need to see Him in the pulpit (or around it), they need to see Him in the choir, they need to see Him in the parking lot or at the door, they need to see Him in the hall way or by the coffee pot. They need to hear Him in our songs and sermons and Sunday school lessons and our socializing. They need to see Him and hear Him in YOU. You are DeSoto Hills wherever you go your represent the Lord and this church. On this first year anniversary I want us to recommitment ourselves to the task of exalting Him. “If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32 A Fellow Pilgrim, Bro. James
