It’s early Monday morning and I am sitting on my screen porch listening to it rain. Now that I think about it, it was raining last week while I was writing my article. Although it is a bit nippy, I am bundled up and sitting out here because I love the sound of rain on this metal roof. It is especially nice, due to the fact that it is a sound that has been pretty sparse over the course of the summer. You may have groaned when you woke up this morning and heard the rain; but the fact is, we need it. It has been a long, hot, and very dry season. All summer I worked at trying to keep my plants alive. I filled water buckets, I moved hoses around, and I left sprinklers on. All that time I knew that rain would come, but until then I just faithfully kept watering. Maybe today you are feeling the effects of some kind of spiritual drought in your own life. I encourage you not to give up, just remain faithful and look to the Lord. The rains will come. The lack of rain may be God’s way of testing you or preparing you for the next step in your spiritual walk. I sense that DeSoto Hills is experiencing God’s blessed rain right now. May we soak it in, so that we might sprout up and produce much spiritual fruit for His Glory.
Thanks for being a friend. i really appreciate all you do!
