VBS Bound

June 2nd, 2010 | Print This Post

The church has been a beehive of activity over the past few weeks as we continue to prepare for what promises to be another great Vacation Bible School.  Backdrops have gone up, supplies have been delivered, food has been ordered, signs have been made, schedules have been prepared, workers have been recruited, and many prayers have gone up.  We have learned from past experience that His breath on this week makes ALL the difference.  So please, continue to “bathe” this week in prayer.  If you are free on Friday at noon, we could sure use some help cleaning up everything.  Also, remember that we will not have any Wednesday night activities here during the week of VBS.  Kathy got a handwritten thank you note from one of the vendors where we ordered supplies. The last line of their message says it best, “Have a wonderful, amazing, fantastic Vacation Bible School!”  These are my sentiments exactly.

Also be praying for our first installment of Summer Breezes, which kicks off on Sunday, June 13 with Gary Permenter and Charlotte Ritchie.  They will be with us ALL day long so I hope you will be, too.

And last, but not least, we officially welcome Laura Smitherman to our church family and staff.  Borrowing a phrase from Dr. Martin Luther King, I want to say that she is “here at last, here at last, thank God Almighty, she is here at last”.
